Code of Ethics

PREAMBLE

The Code of Ethics is based on corporate values and is a set of requirements and standards of behaviour to which managers and employees commit themselves to adhere. Company reputation and justified trust from business partners belong to significant values of the company. All employees shall act in accordance with this Code of Ethics, maintain moral standards in business and work conduct and create an atmosphere of mutual trust and respect.

We also require our suppliers to abide by laws and apply ethical principles in business, as they are also part of our business activities. At the same time, we assure them that our actions towards them will be always ethical and in compliance with laws.

INGSTEEL is a family business and we believe that by consistently adhering to ethical values we build not only our own company culture but our actions also help to create societal values that will benefit future generations.

PRINCIPLES

Company management

  • shall abide by generally binding legal rules, especially the legal rules governing protection of competition and fair business dealings,
  • shall build relationships with business partners on the basis of mutual trust without any favouritism,
  • shall provide safe and permanently sustainable environment for decent work without discrimination and prejudice – exclusion or preferences based on national or social origin, religion, political opinion, sexual orientation or gender identity,
  • shall secure gender equality and equal opportunities in employment or occupation,
  • shall enable employees to organize, join trade unions and give the opportunity for collective bargaining with the company’s management,
  • shall pay attention to the professional and personal growth of employees and makes sure that they are informed about their rights in the field of work environment, work safety, working hours, wages and benefits,
  • shall not tolerate any form of harassment, discrimination, or favouritism,
  • shall adhere to the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, according to which slavery and trafficking in human beings are prohibited,
  • shall observe the prohibition of child labour so that the minimum age of employees is not lower than the age at which compulsory schooling ends, in no case less than 15 years,
  • shall maintain and continuously improve the environmental management system according to the ISO 14001: 2015 standard and the EMAS environmental scheme.

Employee

  • shall conduct himself/herself in a manner that is not harmful to his/her colleagues and not complicating the work and not preventing any initiative,
  • shall protect information connected with business activities of the company and classified as confidential,
  • shall act not only as a private person, but also as a representative of the company, therefore, even outside the workplace, he/she shall take care of company reputation and protect its interests,
  • shall adhere to valid rules in the field of the environment and carry out his/her work in such a way as to avoid any danger to and pollution of the environment,
  • shall adhere to valid rules in the field of work safety and carries out  his/her work in such a way as to avoid any danger to himself/herself or other employees,
  • shall proceed in accordance with the company’s internal guidelines in the event of detection of any fact that could lead to a hazard, endangerment of life or environmental pollution,
  • shall protect the entrusted property against loss, damage, misuse or destruction. In case of danger, he/she is obliged to prevent damages to the best of his/her possibilities and abilities, if this is not possible, he/she is obliged to bring this fact to the attention of his superior,
  • shall create equal business terms for all contractors without any preferences or favouritism and accepts no financial donations or gifts in kind,
  • shall take note that the Code of Ethics is an internal norm, which is binding for all employees and confirms that he/she shall abide by it.

Contractor

  • shall adhere to generally binding legal regulations, especially the legal rules governing competition and fair business dealings,
  • shall not organize or participate in any other activities that could lead to contract manipulation or any form of cartel settlement with competitors,
  • shall protect all provided confidential information, and not only information about INGSTEEEL, but also about other contractors and customers,
  • shall not offer any consideration in cash or kind to employees of INGSTEEL for any favours related to the business of INGSTEEL in order to secure for itself any advantage,
  • shall not invoice and bill works or services which have not been fully or correctly delivered,
  • shall ensure that all its employees and the staff of its subcontractors will not participate in any discrimination or any other unethical action in work places of INGSTEEL,
  • shall adhere to the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, according to which slavery and trafficking in human beings are prohibited,

  • takes note that the Code of Ethics is an internal norm, which is binding for contractors of INGSTEEL, and confirms that it shall abide by it.

The company management intends is interested in ensuring full compliance of the Code of Ethics with all company actions. We want to make business in honest and transparent way and therefore we expect active cooperation of employees and contractors in the form of alerts for actions contrary to the Code of Ethics. We ensure that all complaints will be checked in accordance with internal rules, including a guarantee for the confidentiality of the notifier.
